Truro School are aiming to better their best ever run in the Under 15 Cup by reaching quarter-finals this season.
Mark Nicholas, head of boys PE at the Cornish independent school, believes he has got enough talent in his squad to make this a memorable year.
Truro School were Under 14 county champions last year and Nicholas said: "This year we have got a very special team. The boys are playing really
well and have lost just one match. That was against Truro College and we have since avenged that.
"I have a good overall squad but our back row is especially strong. They are a line-up which will prove tough for any school to get the better of.
They are a powerful unit. This team certainly have the potential to make the last 16 and perhaps even better. If we can do that it will be a fantastic achievement for the school. The last 16 is the best we have ever done at Under 15 level."
Truro face Ivybridge in the fourth round, but their Devon neighbours will certainly be no pushover as Nicholas is well aware.
He added: "We are really looking forward to our next match. The boys are very keen to play teams they don’t normally play. Ivybridge will certainly
pose a tough challenge with them being a Sports College linked in with the RFU South West academy.
"Although the academy is for under 18s, they attract rugby players at an early age and that must be a massive benefit for them. We are expecting a tough clash."
