Dettori: Bring on Invasor
Last updated at 13:02 28 March 2007
Frankie Dettori is relishing the prospect of seeking his fourth win in the
world's richest race, the Dubai World Cup, on Saturday night.
The ever-popular Italian has only missed one renewal - in 2005 when Roses in
May won and Godolphin did not have a runner - and will this year partner hot
favourite Discreet Cat in the $6million spectacular under the Nad Al Sheba
floodlights.

Dettori has previously triumphed on the brilliant Dubai Millennium (2000),
Moon Ballad (2003) and Electrocutionist last year.
His three wins are actually one less than Jerry Bailey, who won the race on
half of the eight occasions he rode in it - including on Sheikh Mohammed's
Singspiel (1997) and, ironically, Godolphin's Street Cry in 2002 when Dettori
rode Sakhee.
Dettori is looking forward to being reunited with Discreet Cat, on whom he
scored a facile win in last year's UAE Derby, where the pair had Invasor back in
fourth - form his big rival, who reopposes, has boosted spectacularly since.
Forced to miss his intended seasonal reappearance due to a slight temperature,
Discreet Cat has pleased in two recent workouts at Nad Al Sheba.
Dettori said: "We did a nice seven-furlong solo the week after he missed that
race and he felt great.
"We did a more serious piece over a mile, with a lead horse, two weeks ago
and he was very good that day; moving well and very relaxed.
"Invasor is a serious opponent, but I am more than happy with my horse; bring
him on."
