The Fugue will be kept in training and Breeders Cup is the next target
The Fugue, who produced a career best when beating Al Kazeem in the Irish Champion Stakes this month, will be kept in training next season.
Revealing the plan, Lady Lloyd-Webber who bred the four-year-old filly with her composer husband at their Watership Down stud near Newbury, said: ‘We have tons of broodmares and one racehorse so why not keep her in training?
‘We love our racing and she is racing at the highest level. It is great fun and Andrew absolutely adores it when it gets to the point that he can’t go anywhere without somebody mentioning The Fugue.’

A tilt with the filly at next month’s Arc is very much ground-dependant and, given the soft ground at Longchamp last weekend, in the balance for the three-time group one winner.
But Lady Lloyd-Webber has her sights set on the Breeders’ Cup at Santa Anita in California. With its guaranteed fast ground, it is definitely The Fugue’s No 1 priority this autumn.
Lady Lloyd-Webber added: ‘My heart is set on that. I think we should wrap her up and take her to California.’
By also landing the Yorkshire Oaks this season, The Fugue has won her ticket to run in either the 10-furlong Filly & Mare Turf or the two-furlong longer Turf where she would take on the colts.
Meanwhile, one of the final parts of the jigsaw to determine the make-up of the Arc line-up will drop into place with the running of the Group Three Prix du Prince D’Orange at Longchamp on Saturday.
Andre Fabre’s French Derby winner Intello faces four rivals, including his pacemaker Paan, and his performance will determine whether he runs in France’s mile and a half championship contest or waits two weeks for the shorter Champion Stakes at Ascot.
Wednaan, a debut Yarmouth winner trained in Newmarket by South African Mike de Kock, has Classics in Dubai next year in his sights.
After the Dubawi colt who cost 450,000 euros had won drawn three-quarters of a length clear of Silver Treasure, De Kock’s assistant Steve Jell said: ‘He could be our (UAE) Guineas horse.’
