Brown Sugar (Newmarket, nap, 2.10) built on an impressive debut performance at today’s venue by routing a small field at Salisbury on his latest start.

The Richard Hannon stable boast a good record in this race and the fact they aim the lightly-raced colt at this afternoon’s event looks a steer in itself.

I liked the way he quickened at Salisbury and he looks some value to overturn likely favourite Sir John Hawkins. Jallota, the conqueror of Brown Sugar on his debut, looks a very fair price too for those looking to for an each-way way wager at tasty odds.

Feel Like Dancing (Lingfield, nb, 1.40) is not a straightforward conveyance but a straight, galloping track looks likely to bring out the best in him.

The selection got warm prior to his fine Ascot effort behind Leading Light in the Queen’s Vase so, in the circumstances, he did extremely well to finish second.

The track didn’t appear to suit either last time and Newmarket’s straight and contours should play to his strengths.
