Big Buck's is back on course with wonder horse set for Wincanton's jumps opener
Four-time Stayers’ Hurdle king Big Buck’s will be the star attraction in a parade of horses from the West Country before Wincanton’s first fixture of the new jumps season gets under way on October 18.
The Paul Nicholls-trained nine-year-old, who became the first British jumper to achieve an unbeaten sequence of 17 victories when triumphing in the Liverpool Hurdle at Aintree in April, will be joined by last season’s most improved chaser Hunt Ball, whose success in handicaps included a win at the Cheltenham Festival.

Elsewhere, Redcar were forced to abandon their fixture scheduled for Wednesday after 60 millimetres fell in just 36 hours at the track. Clerk of the course James Sanderson said: ‘We are waterlogged in numerous places.
And John Dunlop, who revealed his impending retirement earlier this month, will have his last runners at his local track when Goodwood stages its final meeting of the 2012 season.
The Arundel trainer will be represented by Man Of Plenty (2.35), Goodwood Atlantis (3.10) and Big Johnny D (4.15).
