Godolphin must tame the Beast in Sprint
Trainer: Bob Baffert
Godolphin rate Gayego one of the best Breeders’ Cup shots in the Sprint and Jeremy Noseda’s July Cup winner Fleeting Spirit chances her arm but both must tame the speedball nicknamed The Beast.
Zensational has that name on his bridle and his trainer Bob Baffert rates him the fastest thing he has trained.
That comes from a man Anita who has landed the last two Breeders’ Cup Sprints.
Jockey Victor Espinoza had Zensational six lengths clear at one stage in his latest Grade One victory at another Californian racetrack, Del Mar.
Baffert said: ‘I read somewhere that a cheetah goes from 0-40mph in two jumps. That’s what Zensational does. Victor hasn’t let him loose yet but he will do Saturday.’
