Tom Daley was 13 only last week but in 14 months he could be diving for Britain at the Olympic Games, the youngest in the competition.
He achieved the qualifying standard to compete in next January's national Olympic trials at his first senior international competition in Canada and that opens the door to realising his Olympic dreams four years earlier than London 2012.

Daley (left), one of the Magnificent Seven 2012 prospects Sportsmail has been following, would be just 14 years and 79 days when the Beijing Games start, and the diving is open only to those 14 before the Games.
Daley beat the British qualifying standard in the Montreal Grand Prix and, ironically, his best-scored dive was an armstand back-triple with tuck, a dive that so scared him 18 months ago he abandoned it.
As if a birthday and a score of 395 in a Grand Prix eventwere not presents enough for one month, Daley had another on Tuesday.
Worldwide Olympic supporter Visa recognised his talent with his first personal sponsorship as the youngest of 16 Britons it will assist.
Jean-Rene Badrick, 17, another of Sportsmail's Seven, has also opened up the prospect of Beijing.
He has been selected for this year's world judo championships in the 66kg category, a necessary step towards winning his place in the Olympic team next year.
