Tom Daley is more used to slam dunking into a swimming pool than shooting hoops, but one of Great Britain’s Olympic gold medal hopes has shown he’s a dynamic sportsman.

Daley has uploaded a video of himself pulling off a dramatic trick shot, throwing a ball into a bin from his legs while performing a backward  somersault.

If you think that sounds tricky, well, it is! But the golden boy of British diving makes it look a doddle as the ball slams straight into the middle of the bin.  

Some people open bottle with their teeth, others blow up marigold gloves on their heads, but the young diver describes this rather cool skill as his very own 'party trick'.

Is there enough time to apply to the International Olympic Committee to have this officially recognised as an Olympic event?

If things don't work out for him in the diving world next summer, maybe he could be considered as a late addition to the basketball team?
