Fencing fury

The no 1 ranked man in world fencing exited the men's sabre event at the Olympic Games in Paris on Saturday but he did not leave quietly.

Georgia's Sandro Bazadze lost 15-14 to Mohamed Amer of Egypt in the round of 16.

However, the contest ended with both players screaming in apparent celebration.

Bazadze was seemingly convinced that he had landed the winning touch before Amer and looked stunned when his opponent was announced as the victor.

But Spanish match referee Vanesa Chichon checked the video and still concluded that Amer had won.

France maintain 100% start in men's football

Les Bleus followed up their 3-0 victory over the USA by beating Guinea 1-0 at Nice's Allianz Riviera tonight.

After that lucky escape, France's winning goal arrived in the 75th minute when Kiliann Sildillia headed home from a Michael Olise cross.

Thierry Henry's France make shaky start against Guinea

Thierry Henry's France have not made the most impressive of starts against Guinea in tonight's men's football.

Les Bleus - who beat the USA 3-0 in their Group A opener - appeared to have fallen behind against the African side before being saved by a VAR review.

It is still 0-0. A win for France tonight would not mathematically see them through to the next round but it would almost guarantee it.
