Ahead of his transition into broadcasting next year, Tom Brady has received some words of advice from good friend and former teammate Rob Gronkowski.

Brady, who brought the curtain down on his iconic NFL career earlier this year, is set to begin his 10-year, $375million contract with FOX Sports in the fall of 2024 as he prepares to launch his next chapter as a TV analyst.

On the latest episode of his 'Let's Go' podcast, the legendary quarterback spoke with Gronkowski about his former Patriots and Buccaneers teammate's recent comments while working on TV himself.

Brady joked: 'A month ago [Gronkowski] said, "I tried to befriend the backup quarterback because Tom in his first preseason game didn't even know my name." Which is complete bulls***!

'So why is my guy Robbie G out here on national TV telling a bunch of white little lies?'

Gronkowski then offered his pal some television advice while explaining why he told that false version of events.

'When you get to TV, you're gonna switch it up a little bit Tom,' he said. 'You've got to make the story sound better than it is.

'I knew exactly that you knew who I was.'

Brady and Gronkowski reunited this week to discuss their successful stint in Tampa Bay, when the former Patriots stars led the Buccaneers to Super Bowl glory - and celebrated in style.

'That boat parade will go down in history as one of the great parades of all time!' Brady said about the aftermath of their 2021 Championship win.

The three-time MVP and Gronkowski - a former tight end - won four Super Bowl rings alongside one another. The first three came with the New England Patriots.

Gronkowski then retired in 2019 before being lured back on to the field to join Brady following the quarterback's switch to Tampa Bay.

Together, they led the Bucs to Super Bowl glory before enjoying a post-game parade on the waters of Florida.

In one iconic clip, Brady was seen tossing the Vince Lombardi Trophy from one boat to another. 'We celebrated like no other,' the now-46-year-old said.

He also opened up on the move to Tampa Bay - and his attempts to persuade 'Gronk' to return to the NFL.

'As a free agent I got to choose which teammates I wanted to join rather than (being) on a team and the coach is always choosing who joins your locker room,' the QB said. 'When I chose Tampa I didn't know that Robbie G was gonna come out of retirement. Of course I was hopeful, but there was no certainty about it.

'He was retired for a year and then I called him and he's like: "Tampa, huh?" And we went down there and we had so much fun. It was Covid, we all had a chance to get to know each other. All of our teammates were so excited. We were excited...it was a breath of fresh air for all of us.'
