Not England's night!

In the end, it was Brazil who showed they are still a team to be reckoned with.

England were favourites tonight, but could not get past an inexperienced Brazil side, and were made to rue their first-half missed chances.

Although there were positives to take from the performances of Anthony Gordon and Jude Bellingham, Gareth Southgate will be disappointed with the result.

However, Brazil will be delighted, they have found a new superstar in Endrick, who netted the winner on his debut at just 17 years of age.

It was also the perfect start for new Brazil manager, Dorival Jr, who has now halted the losing streak with a brilliant win.

Many people moan about the international break, but I found that very enjoyable, and I hope you did too.

Thank you for listening to me blab on this page, I can't wait to do it again soon!

SUBSTITUTION: England 0-0 Brazil

Gareth Southgate rolls the dice with a Triple substitution for England.

Jarrod Bowen comes on for Jude Bellingham, I wasn't expecting that chance, but let's see what Bowen can do.

Lewis Dunk and Joe Gomez are also on for Ben Chilwell and Harry Maguire.

Fan Comment: 'There was an air of the inevitability that England were not going to score'

Anonymous: For all the half-decent performances from certain players there was an air of the inevitability that England were not going to score. The subs bought on made no difference. An all-round frustrating game...

A night to forget in the end for England.

Brazil got what they deserved in the end as Endrick put a dent in England's preparations for Euro 2024.

SOFASCORE STATS: England 0-1 Brazil

It's fair to say, it was a very even game.

It wasn't a classic by any means, but both sides certainly had their chances to win it, and it was Brazil that took theirs.

The amount of fouls sticks out to me - Brazil committed a total of 19!

No Kane a big blow for England

So, now it's confirmed, Harry Kane will not be fit for Tuesday's match with Belgium.

Let's be honest, I don't think anybody was expecting him to be, but it is still a huge blow for Gareth Southgate to see Kane fly back to Germany.

Ollie Watkins struggled at times tonight and they will need either him or Ivan Toney to step up to the plate next week.

'England looked flat and ordinary'

Oliver Holt, Mail Sport Chief Sports Writer, at Wembley Stadium:

Brazil were too good for England tonight. Too assured, too clever with the ball, too fast with their movement.
England looked flat and ordinary. They are a better team than they showed this evening. A wake-up call, hopefully.

Fan Comment: '[England were] pants'

I think this comment sums up how a lot of you are feeling...

England 0-1 Brazil

Was that the moment?

Declan Rice whips in a delightful ball into the box but Danilo gets the slightest of touches to put off Marcus Rashford.

He probably would have got a header on target without that touch.

England 0-1 Brazil

The Brazilian fans are having a party at Wembley.

They are certainly playing some rhythmic music in there, but England have to try and ignore it, they have less than five minutes to get something from this game.

They haven't responded well to the goal so far though, they need to apply the pressure.
