Scottie Scheffler's wife takes brutal dig at golf star's driving after his shock arrest at the PGA Championship

Scottie Scheffler is one of the world's greatest drivers of the ball but he struggles badly behind the wheel.

That is according to his wife Meredith, who savaged the world No 1's driving ability during a quiz about their marriage.

Her comments come nearly two years after Scheffler's stunning arrest midway through the 2024 PGA Championship.

In astonishing scenes, the world No 1 was taken to jail on a string of charges - including a felony charge of assaulting a police officer - after being led into a police car in handcuffs ahead of his second round.

Scheffler was initially accused of 'refusing to comply' with police instructions after attempting to pull into the course and dragging a police officer to the ground. The officer was taken to the hospital.

The charges were dropped but his wife remains unimpressed with his control behind the wheel.

The Schefflers answered questions including who changes more diapers (Meredith) and who takes out the trash (Scottie).

They were then asked who is the better driver. 'Me!' Meredith shouted. Despite Scheffler's protests - 'That's very untrue!' - she added: 'He's such a bad driver!'

A stunning image from the time showed Scheffler, now 29, in an orange jumpsuit following his arrest.

Within a few hours, he was back on the first tee at Valhalla and the criminal charges were dropped within weeks.

'I hold no ill will toward Officer [Bryan] Gillis. I wish to put this incident behind me and move on, and I hope he will do the same,' Scheffler wrote on social media at the time, referencing the Louisville police officer who arrested him.

'Police officers have a difficult job and I hold them in high regard. This was a severe miscommunication in a chaotic situation.'
