Middlesbrough defender Ugo Ehiogu is set to sign for Rangers today.
The 34-year-old, who has made almost 500 appearances for the Teesside club, should complete a deal with Walter Smith's side later this afternoon.
Boro are happy to let the former England defender leave on a free transfer after six years' service, and contractual arrangements between both clubs and the player have been agreed.
Ibrox boss Smith, who signed Davie Weir from Everton last week, told Rangers World: "There are a few formalities to finish in terms of the medical and some contractual issues but we hope to have him on board today or tomorrow.
"He will give us a bit of steel and experience.
"We need a number of players between now and the end of the season, especially as we have European matches coming up too.
"Like Davie Weir, he will help all the younger lads around him."
