The brother of Nicolas Anelka will take over the running of Raith Rovers next season after agreeing to invest money in the Bell's First Division club.
Claude Anelka - who acts as an agent for his football star brother - has ploughed £200,000 into the Kirkcaldy side and the investment means he will be take over the running of the first team as part of his role at the club.
His involvement signalled the end of Antonio Calderon's reign in charge after he refused to stay at Raith under the new regime.
Monaco-based agent Willie Mackay, who helped set up the deal, told the Daily Record: "Claude has agreed to spend somewhere in the region of £200,000 to buy shares and this is just an initial figure.
"For this money, he will take on a role as general manager and he will also be in charge of first-team affairs.
"He is deadly serious - and he plans to make a big push for promotion to the SPL.
"He has been to Scotland to look around the set-up in Kirkcaldy and feels this is the perfect opportunity for him and the club."
Shark reputation
Mackay also defended the role Anelka played in his brother's £22million move to Real Madrid from Arsenal.
He added: "He was made out to be a shark over the Madrid move but the truth is his brother wanted to go to Lazio and they were only offering £17million and Arsenal refused to accept that.
"That was the only reason they demanded compensation."
