  • Kyle Schwarber doubled the lead in the fifth inning with a sacrifice fly
  • Aaron Nola was strong on the mound for Philadelphia, throwing 6.2 shutout innings 
  • The Phillies now head to Atlanta for Game 1 against the Braves on Tuesday 

Mets 7, Padres 3

  • New York evened their wildcard series with San Diego with a 7-3 win on Saturday night in Queens
  • Pete Alonso put the Mets ahead in the fifth inning with a solo home run 
  • The Mets would go on to add four runs in the seventh, but the Padres weren't finished
  • San Diego scored in the ninth and had the bases loaded with the tying run, Josh Bell, at the plate, but Mets reliever Seth Lugo induced a grounder to first to end the game
  • Game 3 is Sunday in San Diego at 7:30pm EST. The winner advances to face the Los Angeles Dodgers

Guardians 1 Rays 0

  • The Guardians beat the Rays Saturday in a 15-inning game to advance to the divisional round
  • The teams combined for just 11 hits in the matchup 
  • Oscar Gonzalez ended the game with a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the 15th inning
  • Cleveland will play the Yankees in the next round on Tuesday in New York

Mariners 10 Blue Jays 9

  • The Mariners trailed 8-1 after five innings but came back to take the series against Toronto
  • Seattle scored four runs in the eighth inning to get back in the game
  • And their comeback was heavily aided by a massive collision between George Springer and Bo Bichette in the eighth inning with two outs and the bases loaded, which allowed all three runners to score and tie the game
  • Seattle will play at Houston in the divisional round on Tuesday
