Nottinghamshire in charge against Lancashire

Charlie Shreck starred

with the ball to put

Championship leaders

Nottinghamshire on the

verge of victory against

Lancashire.

Shreck finished with

five for 40 at Trent

Bridge as Lancashire

were bowled out for

233 — opener Paul

Horton top scoring with

37.

That left Notts needing

just 145 to win, and they

scored 33 of those runs

before the close for the

loss of one wicket, Will

Jefferson.

Graham Onions' first

five-wicket haul for a

year put Durham in

command against

Yorkshire at Chester-le-

Street.

Onions' fellow

seamer Steve Harmison

— battling to get back

in the England frame —

was also among the

wickets, taking three

for 40 as the visitors

were dismissed for 194.

In Division Two,

Worcestershire seamer

Simon Jones continued

his impressive form at

New Road, mopping up

Gloucestershire's

lower order.

The England man took

five for 92 — his first

five-wicket haul in a

Championship innings

since ankle and knee

injuries put his Test

career on hold during

the 2005 Ashes — as the

visitors were finally

dismissed for 444.
