Steve Harmison has
been told by national
selector Geoff Miller
he must 'go back to
the drawing board' in
order to save his
England career.
Harmison ended
England's Test series
in New Zealand out of
favour, out of the side
and facing an
uncertain future in
international cricket.
Disappointment: Harmison
Dropped after their
dreadful defeat in the
first Test in Hamilton,
he and fellow Ashes
winner Matthew
Hoggard watched
from the sidelines as
England came back to
win 2-1, their
replacements Stuart
Broad and James
Anderson impressing
in backing up man-of-the-
series Ryan
Sidebottom.
With Andrew
Flintoff poised to
return once he proves
his fitness, 6ft 5in
Durham paceman
Harmison knows he
has a huge fight on his
hands to resume his
Test career, in which
he has taken more
than 200 wickets.
Miller admitted:
"He's got to go back to
the drawing board and
start putting in some
performances with
Durham and then
we'll reassess it.
"But, at this moment
in time, he is in a kind
of question-mark
place."
