Rain ends play in Sydney

The second one-day international between Australia and New Zealand was abandoned because of persistent wet weather in Sydney.
New Zealand managed some time at the crease after winning the toss, but having stumbled to 30 for three, the rain set in and the match was eventually called off.
The hosts dominated what little play there was in Sydney with Brett Lee claiming the scalps of Lou Vincent (nought) and Brendon McCullum (five), while Jamie How (four) was undone by a Nathan Bracken delivery with Matthew Hayden taking the catch.
Australia lead the Chappell-Hadlee series 1-0 with the third and final one-dayer set to take place in Hobart next Thursday.
