Hundredth hundred for Hick
Last updated at 12:38 22 June 2006
Worcestershire's Graeme Hick made history today when he became only the eighth batsman to score a century of first-class centuries for one county.
He achieved the feat by adding the seven runs he needed to reach the three-figure mark in his side's Liverpool Victoria County Championship Division Two match against Northamptonshire at New Road.
The other seven players on the list are: JB Hobbs (Surrey, 144 centuries), CP Mead (Hampshire, 138), FE Woolley (Kent, 122), EH Hendren (Middlesex, 119), WR Hammond (Gloucestershire, 113), H Sutcliffe (Yorkshire, 112) and G Boycott (Yorkshire, 103).
Forty-year-old Hick, who made his Worcestershire debut in 1984, is now sole occupant of eighth place in the all-time list of century-makers with 130 first-class tons overall - one more than the legendary Sir Leonard Hutton.
