Harrison targets world featherweight title bout after ending six-year exile from the ring
Golden days: Scott Harrison wants to return the form he showed prior to losing his license
Scott Harrison has vowed to return to world-beating form after being granted his boxing licence.
The 34-year-old, who gave up his WBO featherweight title in 2006, succeeded in his long-running attempts to gain approval from the British Boxing Board of Control.
Harrison is now looking for a swift return to the ring following an absence of more than six years, during which time he served a sentence in a Spanish jail.
The Cambuslang fighter told BBC Scotland: 'I feel super fit and ready to go. I can now go back to work to provide for my family and win a third world title.'
Peter Harrison, his father and trainer, added: 'We're looking at early next year, possible February, for his first fight back. Make no mistake, Scott will become world champion again.'
Harrison has not fought since he successfully defended his WBO belt in November 2005 against Nedal Hussein.
He pulled out of his next defence amid problems with alcohol and depression, which saw him check into the Priory, and gave up his title after failing to make the weight for a defence against Nicky Cook in December 2006, weeks after being released from a spell on remand in a Spanish jail.
Harrison was released from prison in Spain in September this year after serving two-and-half years following an assault charge.
