Rowing: Redgrave still rules at Henley
by ALAN BROMSGROVE, Daily Mail
Sir Steve Redgrave proved yesterday he still has the winning formula when he triumphed at the Henley Royal Regatta.
The five-times Olympic gold medallist and his three Leander crew-mates won by nearly three lengths in the quadruple sculls.
Redgrave, who has given up international rowing, said afterwards he had only agreed to take part 10 days ago to make up the numbers.
He added: 'I'm not sure I'll do this again. I've answered a few questions about myself - and one is that I'm unfit.'
Yesterday's success was Redgrave's 20th at the famous Thameside venue.
There was also success for two other heroes from Sydney, when Matthew Pin-sent and James Cracknell claimed their first Henley title as a coxless pair.
They cruised to victory over Britain's lightweight world champions Peter Haining and Nick Strange to win the Silver Goblets and Nickalls' Challenge Cup.
