There is another record entry of over 1,000 teams in the in the Daily Mail Cup this season.
Ivybridge will be strong contenders, Stamford are in, Filton shared the Tynedale title with Merchiston Castle, while Oakham looked a force at Macclesfield King's tournament. Sevenoaks could be dark horses, too.
Beaten U18 semi-finalists, Wellington College and St Benedict's, Ealing, are determined to get their hands on the trophy, and Wellington enjoyed a major fillip this week by beating Colston's 26-21 after being 14-0 down.
There is an important rule change for the semis, which will now be staged at Broadstreet RFC near Coventry.
Games ending in a draw will be decided by place kicking.
We are also launching a Team of the Month award in each competition. Send your nominations and why, plus news and reports to: jim.hooley@hotmail.co.uk
