The All England Club will
seek players' views over the
next fortnight on the Centre
Court roof scheduled for
completion in 2009.
The roof will take 15 minutes
to close and another 15 minutes
for the atmosphere to adjust.

Chief executive Ian Ritchie
said: "If we close the roof and
the players are slipping about
the court because the
atmosphere is wrong inside
the bowl, they will just walk
off. You have got to make sure
the court surface is bone dry
for players.
"It's unfair for a player to have
half a set without the roof, and
half with it. We'll have to
monitor weather forecasts and
decide, open or shut."
The cost of the roof is still a
closely guarded secret. "Can't
tell you," said Ritchie. "That's
the beauty of running a private
members' club!"
