Football: Wycombe's Cup run ends
Wycombe etched their name on FA Cup history with a spirited showing against mighty Liverpool in the Villa Park semi-final - but it will be the men from Anfield who play Arsenal in the Cardiff final.
Late goals from Emile Heskey and Robbie Fowler ended the Second Division outfit's resistance, although Keith Ryan's 88th-minute effort for Wycombe almost upset the party.
Wycombe had held out for 78 minutes before Heskey scored with a powerful header
Fowler scored Liverpool's second goal with a brilliant, curling free-kick from 20 yards that soared into the top corner.
Still Wycombe would not give in. Two minutes from time, with Wanderers throwing men forward, the ball broke to Ryan and he lifted it over the Liverpool keeper to set up a dramatic four minutes of injury-time.
