England fans get their revenge

England fans angry at the decision to disallow a last minute goal by Sol Campbell, that effectively sent England out of Euro 2004, have been eliciting their revenge via the Internet.
A deluge of sarcastic photographs, depicting the Swiss referee Urs Meier with a guide dog, have been emailed round the country in protest at his outrageous decision.
Meier's personal website has also been swamped by emails from incensed England fans, who have been posting messages telling the beleagured referee exactly what they think of his decision.
Media outlets such as the Sun and Sky TV have fuelled the opposition by revealing details of the website - the referee has since been forced to close down the message board section of his site.
It's not just Meier who's been the victim of the Internet hoaxers. England skipper David Beckham has also been ridiculed for missing his second penalty shot of the tournament.
An image showing England rugby star Jonny Wilkinson telling Beckham that to win the World Cup he "kicked the ball over the bar" pokes fun at Becks' inability to put one away from the penalty spot.
And in another picture, Beckham is shown holding a book entitled 'Penalty Taking for Dummies.'
