Viera: Let battle commence
Last updated at 08:33 11 June 2004
Patrick Vieira believes England's Euro 2004 clash with France on Sunday will "be war".
The midfielder has turned the heat up on Sven-Goran Eriksson's team by declaring the France players who play in the Premiership will "suffer if we have to go back to England having lost".
The Arsenal captain added: "If Sol Campbell has to tackle Thierry Henry do you think it will bother him? Of course not, it's too important.
"Both sides want to win. England because of their pride and the fact they want to show all the French players based in England they remain the best. We want to win too because if we have to go back to England having lost we're going to suffer on our return.
"It will be competitive but it is not going to degenerate into anything silly. There is respect as well as admiration. But no-one will be holding back, even if I'm facing Ashley [Cole] or Sol."
