Rock-bottom Owls set to sack Jewell
Paul Jewell looks set to be sacked as Sheffield Wednesday boss this afternoon.
The Owls have called a press conference at which they are expected to announce the dismissal of Jewell, who took over at Hillsborough last summer following Wednesday's relegation from the Premiership.
Jewell has been unable to turn around the club's fortunes amid tight financial constraints and Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Wimbledon left them rock bottom of Division One.
Jewell succeeded Chris Kamara as Bradford boss in 1998 and guided the Bantams to promotion into the Premiership, but quit after keeping them up on the last day of last season.
