Cricket: Caddick to miss triangular date
Andrew Caddick was today ruled out of England's plans for the forthcoming triangular tournament after it was confirmed he will be sidelined by injury for at least a month.
The Somerset fast bowler sustained a left side injury during England's third-Test victory over Sri Lanka at Old Trafford and visited a specialist in Nottingham today.
He confirmed England's worst fears, with the assessment being that Caddick will need four to six weeks' rest.
But if the injury responds to treatment he could be available for the opening Test against India at Lord's on July 25.
Confirmation of the extent of Caddick's problem comes less than 24 hours before England are scheduled to announce their squad for the limited-overs NatWest Series which also involves Sri Lanka and India and begins at Trent Bridge next week.
