No spending spree for Gunners
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has ruled out the possibility of Arsene Wenger buying his way back into the Premiership title race.
The Gunners are 11 points behind Manchester United but Hill-Wood insists that uncertainty over the transfer market will halt any big-money signings.
Hill-Wood said: "We are faced with a potential killer of the game here. Why should we spend £10m on a player if he is free to walk out at the end of the season? We need new players and the money is available. But not yet."
Hill-Wood also took a swipe at Leeds over their decision to pay £18m for Rio Ferdinand and agree a potential £12m deal for Robbie Keane.
He added: "Arsenal can't understand why so many clubs are buying big before this has been sorted out."
