Celtic history

Celtic's trophy haul is some way behind bitter rivals Rangers (89 compared to 107), but they are the only Scottish club to win the European Cup. Their famous 1967 win in Lisbon - the first European Cup to be lifted by a British club - remains their sole continental success.

In addition to their greatest triumph, Celtic have won 41 League titles, 31 Scottish FA Cups, a record 24 League Cups and have appeared in a further 31 domestic finals.

Three years after beating Inter Milan in Lisbon, Celtic reached the European Cup Final again only to lose to Feyenoord in extra time. They were also beaten in extra time by Porto in the 2003 UEFA Cup Final.

Since their first Champions League campaign in 2002, Celtic have struggled away from Parkhead and have only managed to reach the knockout stages in the last two years, beaten in the last 16 on both occasions.
