Twitter users criticised EE for the inability to maintain full data coverage as the 'Beast from the East' sweeps across parts of the UK
Twitter backlash started as frustrated customers were unable to access their mobile data on one of the UK's most prominent service providers
Twitter users chipped in with their own advice and technological expertise to try and help get the issue resolved as millions of people are affected
EE tweeted about one of its systems not working properly and apologised. The company pointed out that it was a data issue and not affecting phone calls or text messages
EE had acknowledged the problem on its network status page earlier this morning, saying: 'Some customers are experiencing problems when trying to use data services this morning.
'We are aware of this, and are working to resolve this as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.'
Users took to Twitter to vent their frustrations a the outage.

Despite tweeting about Pokemon earlier in the day, customers were wondering why the services crashed for several hours
And @fmreprise tweeted: 'EE your website is down. Cheers, no point going to work, if I haven't got coverage/credit to do my job. Thanks, got sacked.'
The outage comes after a string of recent issues with the network.
In October, another blackout hit EE leaving hundreds of customers unable to make or receive calls.
The service started experiencing issues around 08:00 BST, according to independent analyst DownDetector, which tracks worldwide network coverage.
A series of tweets from the company announced to users the issue was fixed and it should be fully operational again in the near future. Reports of flawed service still remain
EE told MailOnline at the time that the issue affected voice calls between some EE customers and non-EE numbers only.
Calls between EE customers worked as normal, and calls to 999 emergency services were not affected.
'Some of our customers are reporting problems when trying to make calls to some numbers this morning,' a spokesperson told MailOnline.
'All data and messaging services are working as normal. We're working to fix this as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.'
Angry users took to Twitter to vent their frustrations at the network's outage.
User @AbbiWilson88 tweeted: 'As per @EE let me down again. Customer service is shocking.

User @stavwj tweeted: 'Seems that people all over the country can't make calls, myself and the rest of my family on EE included.'
User @SWArm20 tweeted: 'I can't seem to make outgoing calls or ring your customer service from my landline - is service down? Any estimates on how long?'

'While it's good news that messaging and data are still up and running, the lack of a projected timeframe for a fix makes this a disconcerting situation for a large proportion of EE's some 30 million customers.
'For those needing to stay in contact, it's worth considering data based calling services like Whatsapp, Skype or Facetime - but it's worth remembering that heavy use of these services could eat into your data allowance pretty quickly.'
