New head-mounted cameras will help police in the fight against antisocial behaviour.
Eight Metropolitan Police beat officers will this week test out the 'headcams' to film youths causing trouble. Det Supt Richard Wood said the cameras would mean officers 'instantly have the evidence to hand to help them apply for an Asbo'. If the project in Haringey, North London, is successful the £1,800 cameras could be worn by officers policing football matches.
It is hoped the tiny devices - about the size of an AA battery and capable of recording high-quality images - will also act as a deterrent.
