Top Gear Magazine is loved as the print equivalent of, arguably, the most popular motoring TV show in the world.
Each month it covers everything from reviews of the latest supercars, features and columns by the three main presenters (Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond) as well as more technical information about the subject cars and info on the motor trade, but now the team that bring you all this content have launched an iPad App.
TopGear iPad App Introduction by The Stig
Right from the start, the guys at TopGear magazine set out to make a world champion of an app for the iPad.
Starting out with a passion for their content, and working with cutting edge tech, they wanted to create an enjoyable, interactive and engaging app for petrol-heads everywhere,
We're introduced to the app by, some say, the only man that can operate an iPad in racing gloves...
The Stig makes short work of navigating the app, which stays faithful to the bold design of the magazine, giving a comfortable familiar feel to anyone that reads the print edition - but hold on to your hats and step on the gas - because that's just the outside.
TopGear iPad App uses interactive features and gestures to allow slick navigation
Once we get under the bonnet of the app, we start seeing that the design team have been hard at work adapting the content for the magazine for the new app, but they realised they can do so much more - and they certainly didn't want to stop with all the clever features
The app lets users really feel like they are in the car with stunning HD images and video
Your traditional content is enhanced using all the features of the iPad. We're treated to even more HD images of the interior and exterior of the cars - but why stop there?
scroll along below some of the images to see more detail
It's easier to navigate than to say it - Pagani Huayra showing the slider feature
or why not look inside and check the hotspots around the car for more information?
Use the hotspots to get more information on detail
The list of how you can interact with this app could go on forever - the video, the hotspots, the exclusive images - and enough hidden content to keep you busy right up until the next edition.
With all this, and the promise of more to come, this app has all the hallmarks of being a must-have monthly subscription - and for less than the price of a pint, even Captain Slow might surrender a precious pint in return for all this motor-head content!

Thanks to Simon @ JargonPR and the Top Gear Magazine team for arranging the review and our exclusive pictures of Stig getting to grips with the App.
