The iconic California home from a beloved 1980s family sitcom has hit the market for $3.5 million.

The property was featured in the opening credits of Too Close for Comfort, the 1980s sitcom that ran for six seasons.

The upper level of a duplex at 171 Buena Vista Avenue East, tucked within one of San Francisco’s wealthiest neighborhoods, was listed this month.

With three bedrooms, two bathrooms and walls of windows offering sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge and city skyline, it’s easy to see why the price is steep.

Actors Ted Knight and Nancy Dussault played married couple Henry and Muriel Rush, who lived in the home with their two fictional adult daughters.

While their daughters lived on the lower floor, Muriel and her conservative cartoonist husband resided on the upper floor.

Much of the show’s humor arose from family life, traditional clashes within the apartment and the awkward situations Henry often found himself in - all shaped by the shared family dynamics behind the show's title.

In one scene, filmed inside the home, the family wakes to a stunning West Coast morning as Henry takes out his frustration on an alarm clock.

The original rustic red exterior has been replaced, and the home now features modern beige siding with brick steps leading up to a midnight-blue front door.

Built in 1904 and one of the few to survive the Great Earthquake two years later, the house sits atop a hill and offers just under 3,000sq ft of open living space.

Listing agent John DiDomenico of Compass noted that the residence was originally a 'grand single-family home,' pointing out that the current floor plan still reflects its original design, according to SFGate.

The home’s prime location, surrounded by prestigious neighbors, sits just steps away from some of the city’s most 'amazing parks,' DiDomenico told the outlet.

Buena Vista Park and its hidden tennis court, Duboce Park hosting the lively Doggie Carnival and Parade and Corona Heights Park with its tucked-away rock climbing wall are all a short stroll away.

Large windows in every room flood the home with natural light, creating a bright, airy atmosphere and offering sweeping views from every angle - especially from its perch on the luxurious hilltop.

With a sleek, modern design, the living and dining areas feature light wood floors and crisp white walls.

The kitchen, though compact with two smaller windows, features white cabinets with vintage wood siding that offer ample storage.

The main bedroom feels bright and airy, with white walls, natural wood floors and a spacious closet.

The bed sits beneath a generously sized window, filling the room with morning sunlight.

A short flight of stairs then leads to a split-level area, where a washer and dryer are discreetly tucked inside a closet.

Another bedroom, accessed via another short flight of stairs, boasts carpeted floors, charming slanted ceilings and a vintage brick pillar.

Panoramic views stretch across Angel Island, the San Francisco skyline and the sparkling waters of the Bay and beyond.

An outdoor deck only amplifies the incredible scenery, providing the perfect spot for new owners to unwind.

'There is brilliant natural light throughout, and a gorgeous view backdrop of the city's glimmering lights against the landscape of the East Bay Hills, which infuse every day living in this treasured location,' DiDomenico wrote in the listing.
