Deirdre Durkan-Simonds is the US Associate Showbusiness Editor covering pop culture and entertainment. The Los Angeles native has conducted hundreds of interviews over her career, including Jane Fonda, Jennifer Garner, Gary Oldman, Ariana Huffington, and Carrie Underwood. She has attended some of Hollywood's biggest events, including the Golden Globes, Emmy Awards, and Kids' Choice Awards. Prior to joining Daily Mail, Deirdre wrote for People Magazine, E! News, and The Hollywood Reporter. Her work has appeared on CBS' show, The Real, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University, where she spent a semester abroad at the University of Oxford and was a member of the English honors society. Deirdre's first original play was selected by LMU's New Works Festival after a campus-wide competition.
