Horror as rescue crews called to a car fire find a BODY inside the burnt-out vehicle

A body has been discovered inside a burning car in Sydney's west, as police officers appeal for dashcam footage of the scene.
Just after 8.20am on Saturday morning emergency services were called to Brenan Street in the suburb of Smithfield after reports a vehicle was alight.
After the blaze was extinguished by fire crews, officers made the macabre discovery of the body inside the car, which is yet to be identified.

The vehicle was located near a bus stop adjacent to a park (pictured) in the western Sydney suburb of Smithfield
A crime scene has been established by officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command and detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The street is mostly residential though there is a nearby park and RSL venue.
Anyone who has information, or who may have been in the area between 7am and 9am on Saturday and has dashcam footage, is being asked to contact police.
Video can either be handed to officers at any police station or uploaded anonymously to Crime Stoppers online.

Some roads in the suburb were closed on Saturday morning with motorists being asked to avoid the area.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner as part of the investigation.
