Mel B ex charged with assault
The former husband of Spice Girl Mel B was today charged with common assault on a three-year-old, Scotland Yard said.
Dancer Jimmy Gulzar, 34, was charged with assaulting the child at London Zoo on September 1, police said.
Gulzar, of Willesden, north-west London, was charged at Marylebone police station in central London.
He will appear on bail at Horseferry Road Magistrates Court on Monday.
Dutchman Gulzar is alleged to have hauled the three-year-old boy off a child's ride.
He was visiting the zoo with Phoenix Chi, his two-year-old daughter with Mel B, 26, at the time of the alleged incident.
Gulzar married the Leeds-born pop star and television presenter in 1998 after he performed in a Spice Girls tour.
Their 15-month marriage ended in a quickie divorce last year.
