He’s behind you! Massive shark sneaks up on a tiny mackerel in Finding Nemo moment

A fin-trembling photo shows the moment a wide-eyed fish is unknowingly stalked by the ocean's fiercest predator.

In a pantomime-like scene, reminiscent of a clip from Finding Nemo, the tiny mackerel swims through the depths looking wary of the dangers of the deep.

Lurking in the waters behind him is the unmistakable shape of a great white shark coming straight towards him with a determined look.

For the great white, pictured in Guadalupe Island, Mexico, late this year, the fish would be a very small snack.

The picture was snapped by photographer Dustin Burkhouse from a nearby shark-cage.

Just as imagined in the Pixar classic, Finding Nemo, the two 'morsels' Dory and Nemo's dad Marlin, are pictured trembling as the shadowy figure approaches.

However contrary to reality the great white in Finding Nemo turns out to be a aspiring vegetarian shark called Bruce.

In the movie Bruce sweeps the two fish along to a 'fish-eaters anonymous' meeting where he recites the pledge 'I am a nice shark, not a fish eating machine. If I am to change this image I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food.'

It is not known if this fish was so lucky.
