Misbehaving MPs could be banned from Commons bars or forced to take anger management courses.
The new punishments are being considered as part of a major overhaul of the disciplinary rules at Westminster to address concerns about bullying and harassment.
Standards commissioner Kathryn Stone has proposed she gets a swathe of new powers to help the crackdown.
She could require MPs to take training courses on equality and diversity, or anger management.

They could also be banned from serving on Commons select committees, travelling abroad on parliamentary business, or using the bars and catering facilities at Westminster.
Errant politicians might also face repaying the costs of any investigation into their conduct.
In a letter to the Commons Standards Committee, which is staging an inquiry into ways of enforcing tougher new rules, Ms Stone said: 'I have set out on the table attached a draft list of what I consider to be useful and meaningful sanctions for Members who are found to be in breach of the Code of Conduct for MPs.
'These include breaches of the Behaviour Code, which would be considered under the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme.'
Commons leader Andrea Leadsom has been pushing through changes to the systems at Westminster following a welter of complaints about the abusive culture.
Currently MPs can be ordered to apologise and in the most serious cases suspended from the House.
