Baljeet Singh, of Queens, allegedly pulled his vehicle in front of a car and fired a crossbow
A New York man is accused of stopping a driver at an intersection in Fairfax County, Virginia, and shooting a crossbow at him, before firing several rounds at the driver with a gun.
News outlets reported Wednesday that 25-year-old Baljeet Singh, of Queens, pulled his vehicle in front of a car at the Centreville-area intersection, approached the vehicle and shot at the victim with the crossbow.
A search warrant says the victim attempted to flee, crashing into the accused man's bumper. Singh also fired the several rounds and struck the car.
Investigators determined Singh's vehicle was rented before the incident and traced it to a rental agency in New York.
Records showed it had been rented to Singh at about 8:23 p.m., February 9, the night before the shooting, and was returned at about 5:19 p.m. on February 10.
The odometer showed that the vehicle had been driven 755 miles, according to the search warrant.
Police haven't said what the motive was for the attack.
Singh was charged with attempted malicious wounding and shooting into an occupied vehicle in March after the February incident.
