Motorists almost crash after both refuse to give way - before angry car driver tries to overtake truck that pulls out to force the vehicle into oncoming traffic

Merging in busy traffic can be stressful at the best of times, but when both motorists wish to stand their ground it can become frightfully dangerous. 

In this dashcam footage two vehicles are determined to not lose their space in a hectic lane but this leads to one truck trying to push a car off the road.

The video shows two rows of traffic driving at a steady speed before needing to merge into one lane.

With the truck picking up the pace in order to merge ahead of the smaller vehicle, the driver of the car decides it doesn't want to let the motorist go in front.

The stubborn motorist starts to speed up hoping to force the truck behind. 

Not wanting to slow down the determined truck veers to the left pushing the car towards the slip road.

It narrowly misses another car while the truck takes a spot in the designated lane.

Not happy from the near miss, the driver races forward and tries to slip back in front of the truck. 

After an eventful exchange the truck out of the two vehicles manages to go ahead but not without forcing the other driver to nearly hit another car (far left)

The clip was posted to Facebook with the caption: 'Caught this earlier, road rage with two vehicles trying to merge. 

'Neither give way to one another and the van tries to ram the car off the road. Excuse my language, I was shocked at what just happened.' 

It is not clear when the footage was filmed but it is believed it was captured somewhere in the UK.
