Search for Danielle continues
Police searching for a missing teenage girl today said they had seized a number of vehicles for examination.
Fifteen-year-old Danielle Jones disappeared eight days ago after leaving her home in of East Tilbury, Essex, to walk to catch a bus to school.
A girl matching her description was seen getting into a blue Transit van shortly Danielle left her home, in Coronation Avenue, at around 8am.
Danielle has not been seen or heard from since Monday last week, and has not replied to text messages sent to her mobile phone.
A police spokeswoman said: "We have seized a number of vehicles for examination but we still want to hear from anyone who might have information about the blue Transit-style van reported near Danielle's home or about anything else to do with Danielle.
"We have received dozens of calls from members of the public offering information and offering their help with searches.
"But none of those calls have at present produced any positive new lines of inquiry."
Police were today continuing to search common land bordering on marshes near Danielle's home.
Specialist teams yesterday began a fingertip search of marshes and farmland in West Tilbury, Essex.
A police helicopter was also called in to make an aerial search of another area of land, behind Danielle's home.
A man who was arrested at the weekend on suspicion of abduction was yesterday released on police bail until August 22.
Danielle's parents Linda, 41, and Tony 40, have made an emotional plea for help in finding their daughter.
Children at the teenager's school, St Clere's Secondary School in Stanford le Hope, have also been urged to contact police if they have any information.
Mr Jones and his wife, who also have two sons, Michael 10, and Ryan 13, were being comforted at their home by a police liaison officer.
Police say Danielle, who was wearing her dark blue school uniform when she was last seen, was a shy girl who had no obvious reason to disappear.
