Three killed in air crashes
Three men were killed in two air accidents today, police said.
In Shropshire, two men were killed after their two-seater microlight came down in a field at Lower Harthall, near Nash.
Emergency services were called to the field shortly before 12.30pm but were unable to save the men.
Police said a 47-year-old man and his 41-year-old companion were certified dead at the scene.
Details of the victims will not be released until relatives have been informed, a police spokeswoman added.
Meanwhile, in Northamptonshire a man was killed after his glider crashed in fields near the A14.
A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire Police said motorists reported the crash at 3.30pm. The victim, who has not been named, was certified dead at the scene.
Emergency services and the force helicopter where called to the crash site, close to junction 19 of the M1 and the M6.
Investigations have been launched into both accidents.
