Playboy rapist Simon Monteiro is back behind bars after breaching his parole conditions, less than two months after his release from prison last month. 

The 50-year-old was taken back into custody after an arrest warrant was executed on Thursday afternoon, the State Parole Authority has said.  

Monteiro, a former model, served nearly nine years in jail for the rape of his former girlfriend in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

He was subject to strict supervision conditions when he was released on February 4, including electronic monitoring, psychological counselling and drug and alcohol testing. 

The 50-year-old was also banned from entering several eastern suburbs areas, including Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra. 

Though Monteiro failed to comply with his parole conditions, 'he did not commit an offence,' a statement from State Parole Authority said.

Monteiro was reportedly uncooperative with conditions that had been set upon him and had disrespected the justice system, Minister for Corrections David Elliott told the Daily Telegraph .

'The offender has chosen to disrespect the justice system by breaching his parole orders,' Mr Elliott said.

Monteiro served almost nine years of an 11-year sentence. 

A review hearing date will be set next week and he will remain under parole supervision until April 2020..  

Monteiro's release in February came after he was rejected for parole twice in 2015 and again in 2016.

Corrective Services NSW launched a last-minute bid to revoke January's decision to grant the serial offender parole, with commissioner Peter Severin arguing that Monteiro 'would be unable to adapt to normal lawful community life'.
