This is the bizarre moment a large snake proves the scaly creatures do care about their hygiene. 

Slithering between the soap and shampoo in a Queensland shower, a large Python has been filmed enjoying a wash. 

The video was filmed in March at an unknown Hervey Bay residence and shows the large olive python slithering up the wall.

Taking up as much space as possible, the snake stretches out to enjoy the shower. 

The python is easily over two metres long as it spreads itself over the full length of the shower wall. 

It presses itself between the wall and the taps as it scales up the tiles. 

The video was shared on YouTube channel Viral Hog and it had some users horrified. 

'I would not have seen that till I got out on a morning,' one user wrote.

'Time to move,' another said.

'Get out while you can,' agreed another.

The olive python is one of Australia's largest snakes and averages around 2.5 metres long but they have been known to grow to 4 metres. 

It seems that the python is most likely a pet and it's owner is filming what is normally a private moment.  

To keep an olive python as a pet potential owners living in Queensland have to apply for a licence. 

 It costs $78.60 and lasts for five years.
