This is the shocking moment a mother in southwest China is sent flying in a street by a pickup truck while desperately trying to save her son from being run over.
Both the one-year-old boy and his mother were treated in a hospital. The boy had to stay overnight to be monitored and the mother suffered minor injuries.
The truck driver, Mr Wu, failed to pay attention while driving on road in a small town, according to reports.

Security camera footage from Wanshuizhen in Kaili, Guizhou Province, captured the boy crossing the road when a pale-gold pickup truck drove past on March 7.
His mother can be seen rushing out behind a motorbike and trying to grab hold of him.
Mr Wu did not seem to reduce his speed and knocked down the toddler in the middle of the road.
The mother was sent flying in the street as she hit into the truck from aside.
The toddler luckily survived as he passed right between the wheels, appearing on the other side, while the mum remained conscious despite the collision.
According to Guiyang Evening Post, Mr Wu told traffic police officer Ke that he had not been careful while driving on road.
He did not manage to put on brakes after noticing a child crossing the road.
But the driver did not reduce his speed and knocked down both the mother and the child

The mother sustained a sprained ankle and the boy was not injured but had to stay in hospital
Both mother and her son were taken to Qiandongnan People's Hospital. The mother had her twisted ankle treated by the doctors.
The child did not sustain any injuries but was asked to stay at the hospital.
Police are investigating the case and have yet to announce any charges.
