An adorable poodle was rescued on Monday after he was spotted with his muzzle tied shut with a rubber band in a California neighborhood.
Ricky the poodle was in distress when a good Samaritan found him and reported his condition to animal control officials.
The sweet pup had a thick rubber band tied around his mouth and he was bleeding from his muzzle.

Ricky was also bleeding from his mouth and was immediately rushed to the Inland Valley Humane Society for treatment
The four-year-old dog was immediately rushed to the Inland Valley Humane Society for treatment.
According to KTLA, Ricky's skin was so torn that he required around 30 stitches.
Dr. Cynthia Kinney of the Inland Valley Humane Society told the station that Ricky was also 'starving'.
'I cannot imagine. He had to be in severe pain, not to mention the infection,' said Dr. Cynthia Kinney of the Inland Valley Humane Society.
Kinney said the rubber band was wrapped so tight that it was cutting off the blood circulation and cutting down to the bone.
Aside from the stitches, the pup was given antibiotics for the infection and a liquid diet to help him recover.

Kinney said Ricky is now on his road to recovery and a 'very happy' pup after being rescued
Kinney said Ricky is now on his road to recovery.
'Dogs are the best. And they're very forgiving creatures,' she said. 'The other day, when he came in, he was very scared and nervous, and today, he's just a whole new dog — very happy.'
Authorities have not found Ricky's owner or the person who harmed the cute dog.
However, the humane society is searching for the person responsible for Ricky's injuries.
