An executive with NFL Network resigned on Wednesday weeks after it was revealed he exchanged hundreds of Twitter interactions with pornstars and prostitutes over the years.
The NFL Network said that Los Angeles-based vice president and executive editor for NFL Media David Eaton tenured his resignation following a failed attempt to scrub his Twitter history of the messages earlier this month.
'Last night, David Eaton tendered his resignation from NFL Media effective immediately,' the league said in a statement Wednesday.
Deadspin reported on December 13 that Eaton appeared to spend several hours removing the tweets while his account disappeared entirely by the afternoon.
Eaton's resignation comes just as NFL Network suspended three analysts last week due to sexual harassment allegations made by stylist Jami Cantor.
Former players-turned-NFL Network analysts Marshall Faulk, Heath Evans, Ike Taylor and Donovan McNabb were named in a sexual harassment lawsuit by Cantor, who worked for the network from 2006 through 2016.
Eaton, who ran online news for the NFL-owned cable TV network before Thursday, was not among those accused of wrongdoing in a lawsuit filed earlier this month by Cantor.

A former employee at the network described the atmosphere as 'toxic cesspool, according to Deadspin, who also dished on Eaton's unusual Twitter habits, which had long been a topic of conversation at the office.
Married father-of-three Eaton joined NFL Network in 2011, after previously working as a bureau chief for ABC News.

Screenshots of the tweets show Eaton engaging in mostly PG banter with sex pros, who often as not simply ignored his remarks.
'Always better to be 'over' than 'under' when it comes to hills,' read Eaton's baffling response to Zoey Holloway, the star of such adult films as MILF Madness and Lesbian Lawyers.
In another tweet to Holloway, Eaton responded enthusiastically to a snap of the porn star's décolletage.
'They are great reads,' he replied to one account with a topless female avatar, which had tweeted about the 'Night Soldiers' book series. 'Pay attention to the various characters - a number of them return in books you've not yet read.'
Eaton had other exchanges with high-end escort Kristen DiAngelo, former escort Olivia LaRoux, and the account 'GotHookerProblems'.
Cantor’s suit also names Eric Weinberger, former executive producer at NFL, who was placed on indefinite suspension at The Ringer, a digital-media startup company, pending a full investigation, according to The New York Post.
Eaton did not respond to Deadspin's request for comment and could not be reached by DailyMail.com.
