England’s shambolic Ashes tour plunged to a new low last night after batsman Ben Duckett was suspended for pouring a pint over the head of bowler James Anderson during a late-night drinking session.
The incident is the latest in a catalogue of shameful episodes that have left the reputation of England’s cricketers in tatters.
Duckett, left, and Anderson were among a group of players enjoying a night out in Perth on Thursday – just hours after a strict team curfew was lifted.

Duckett, who was convicted of drink driving in 2015 drenched James Anderson, left, in beer
Duckett, who was convicted of drink-driving in 2015, got into a row with Anderson, 35, shortly after midnight, which ended with the bowler drenched in beer.
The 23-year-old batsman is now likely to be sent home from Australia following a formal investigation.
The incident happened in the Avenue Bar, the same venue where wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow was accused of head-butting Australian batsman Cameron Bancroft at the start of the tour.
England coach Trevor Bayliss – furious at the latest breakdown in discipline – said last night: ‘We might have to review who’s in the team because we can’t keep on making the same mistakes.’
England are 2-0 down in the five-match series. The third test starts in Perth on Thursday.
