A dare devil diver in Portugal has walked away with a broken arm after jumping off a 50 foot cliff and landing with a cringe worthy smack.

Video taken earlier this month shows a man running towards a cliff's edge in what is thought to be Portugal's southern Faro District. 

The man is seen jumping off the cliff into the direction of a large yellow raft filled with fellow sun catchers.

It is not known whether the man was aiming to land on the raft but he appears to have hit the water adjacent to it with a painful sounding smack.

In video posted on LiveLeak the diver is said to have suffered a broken arm but is otherwise fine.

Cliff diving is a popular extreme sport that can be dangerous for even the top acrobatic and highly trained athlete. 

Aside from broken arms, common injuries include fractures, concussions and sometimes spinal damage.
